Our cuisine is completely based on traditional recipes and the principles of the authentic Naxian cuisine. The gastronomy of Naxos island is a special one, that differs from other Aegean cuisines, and has its roots back in the prehistoric times.

The gastronomy of Naxos island is a special one, that differs from other Aegean cuisines, and has its roots back in the prehistoric times. Its wealth is based on the Naxian land and the products cultivated under certain conditions.

In Apolafsi we aim to bring you in touch with the gastronomic tradition of the island. Our great concern is the collection of natural products, the majority of which comes from our own farm and our own field.

Our menu is the result of our year-long experience and the continuation of a family tradition, since we are the fifth generation that deals with food service.

On daily basis we prepare traditional dishes with materials from our own production. Meat, cheese and vegetables reach your table fresh, so that you enjoy them at their best.

SPECIAL DISHES

Apolafsi restaurant is famous for some special dishes of great taste, such as the “rosto” which is pork with garlic and sauce, served with “matsata” pasta. Also known is the pork in the clay with mushrooms, yogurt and local graviera cheese. Don’t miss to taste our cock cooked in wine, which is raised by the little brother of the family.

Our grandmother prepares almost every day traditional leaf with a rolling pin and makes a spinach pie of unique flavor. Finally, it is worth tasting our local goat which is flavored with thyme and oregano and cooked in baking paper.

DESSERTS

Your dining experience in Apolafsi restaurant will close with handmade desserts and local raki, produced by the youngest son of the family. Our “mosaic”, as well as the traditional “galaktoboureko” steal the impressions of the most demanding palates with their rich flavor and aroma. The fresh milk and eggs from our animals, along with Mrs Voula’s cooking mastery end up to delicious desserts! Our walnut pie is definitely a “must taste” as well.
